Raleigh ICS

International Citizen Service (ICS) is a UK government-funded development programme that brings together young people from all backgrounds to fight poverty around the world.

Raleigh is working alongside development organisations to deliver the ICS programme in over 30 countries. We deliver our ICS programmes in Nepal and Tanzania. Teams are made up of volunteers from the UK and from the local country.

We work on community based projects, which focus on improving people’s access to water and sanitation, and working with young entrepreneurs to create local businesses and build lasting change for them and their families.

ICS placements are currently on pause – please read the FAQ for more detail. You can still join our National Youth Engagement Networks and find out more about ICS’ achievements.

Raleigh Expeditions

Our adventurous Expeditions bring together people from all over the world to create lasting change. Anyone aged 17-75 can volunteer with us. (You can even apply when you are 16, providing you turn 17 whilst you’re on expedition).

Raleigh Expeditions are life-changing for you and for others. They are an opportunity to work on remote community and environmental projects and face adventure challenges in some of the most incredible areas of the world.

If you live in Tanzania you can join us on an Expedition as a volunteer (aged 17-24) or help lead and support the expeditions as a volunteer manager (over 25).
